OUR PURPOSE
The Multicultural and Diversity Project strives to equip Quebec’s BIPOC communities, as well as broader multicultural populations across Canada, with the resources needed to overcome racism and discrimination. Through a comprehensive approach, we aim to enhance the physical, mental, social, educational, financial, and civic skills of individuals across all stages of life—youth, adults, seniors, and families. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to foster empowerment, Multiculturalism, and lasting change by supporting individuals and communities in their growth and advancement.
VISION
We envision a Canada where all individuals, regardless of ethnicity, can thrive with dignity, purpose, and opportunity
MISSION
At the Multicultural and Diversity Project, we are guided by three core pillars: Multiculturalism, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Our mission is to empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities across Canada by offering programs that promote sports, academics, financial literacy, civic engagement, social development, and work toward prison reform and justice. We aim to break down systemic barriers and create equal opportunities for all.

Our Story: From Challenges to Change
The Multicultural and Diversity Project (TMDP) was born out of the lived experiences of its co-founder, Kidel Reid. Growing up in Little Burgundy, Kidel faced significant financial struggles, raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly as a domestic worker. With two older sisters moving away to Toronto, Kidel and his mother navigated life in government housing, an environment often plagued by crime and limited opportunities.
Kidel’s passion for helping others was inspired by his mother’s selfless acts of service and his desire to ensure others wouldn’t endure the same hardships. From taking odd jobs in high school to pursuing a challenging counseling program in college, Kidel was determined to succeed and make a difference. His early career in rehabilitation opened his eyes to the systemic inequalities faced by marginalized groups, particularly BIPOC communities. A conversation with his cousin about the lack of support for English-speaking minorities in Montreal further fueled his commitment to address these disparities
In 2019, with encouragement from his lifelong friend and collaborator Jason Holliday, TMDP was officially founded. Together, they set out to create an organization dedicated to empowering BIPOC communities in Quebec, who face disproportionate racism across various areas of society, including education, employment, and community support.
A Vision for the Future: Empowering Unsung Heroes
Kidel and Jason share a vision of building a community that recognizes and uplifts unsung heroes—individuals working tirelessly to make a difference without seeking recognition. Jason, who has been a creative thinker since their youth, brought forth the idea of hosting festivals and events that celebrate real community impact, rather than focusing on social media popularity.
Their collaborative efforts aim to bridge the gaps for BIPOC individuals and English-speaking minorities in Quebec, who are often overlooked due to language barriers and systemic challenges. By addressing systemic racism and building an inclusive community, TMDP works tirelessly to provide the tools and support necessary for individuals to thrive.
As Kidel reflects on the journey, he sees TMDP as a platform for inspiring the next generation, breaking down barriers, and ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive.
